Here’s an open letter from Mark Escueta of Rivermaya regarding their search for the new front man of their legendary band.

To everyone who said that what we had to go through was a blessing in disguise and that there were bigger things in store for Rivermaya, I have to thank you now and tell you that you were right!
Mike, Japs & I are going through the most exciting and fulfilling time in the bands career. We are way past the mourning stage and even though we are also up to our necks in recording, we are currently enjoying spaktayular- fantabulous- happy-dayz! !!
The audition experience is something that we will never exchange for anything else and we would like to invite you to enjoy it with us for the next few weeks, through the magic of Sunday night TV!
“Rivermaya: Bagong Liwanag – The Audition Specials” will air on September 16 @ 9:15pm on Studio23. It is a showcase of Filipino talent at its freshest and finest and your comments will be greatly appreciated. In fact we HUMBLY-DEMAND
that you comment ’cause we need all the help we can get in choosing our next bandmate, our newest brother or sister who is one of the 500 individuals who showed up at U.P. last August 24&25.

There will also be lots of suprise guests from in-and-around the music scene aside from our formidable array of jugdes Lizza Nakpil (our super-manager), Francis ‘Brew’ Reyes (The Dawn & NU107′s In The Raw) and Louie Talan (Razorback &
Wombworks Studios). Rivermaya may be the main focus of the show, but the invaluable information
that will be shared will be beneficial to all aspiring musicians yearning to learn what OPM is all about and the realities of being in a band.
I suggest you get all your friends together and watch the show in someone’s house, or with the whole family. Basta, masaya ‘to, pramis!!! Dont forget, every Sunday, 9:15pm on Studio23, starting September 16. Please spread the word :D
