Bamboo Mañalac declared on his Message from Bamboo that the band has officially broken up. Bamboo was founded in 2002, and is the band behind hit songs such as ‘Noypi,’ ‘Halleluja,’ and ‘Tatsulok’.  Bamboo Mañalac was the former vocalist of Rivermaya.

Bamboo noted on his statement that “things change.”

“As a group we’ve come to a point where you have to trust your gut, your heart and your head and accept that all things change. The hardest part as always is to know when to pack it up and part ways.”

“We’ve learned that this journey is not only about us but includes all who came along for the trip. Family, friends and of course front row believers who were there for the best reason of all. To simply listen. So it didn’t come easy winding down to this decision,” it continued.

“This is not the end,” assured Mañalac. “We move forward for all the right reasons. This is not a sad day. Music will forever be part of our lives and I couldn’t imagine us simply walking away. Not possible. All I see are possibilities.”

Bamboo added “A chapter closes and a new one begins. So what happens next? I don’t know. 2011 and I readily look forward to tomorrow’s ‘I don’t knows’ and hiccups. So ‘here we go’ a new page,” before proceeding to express gratitude on behalf of the band.

Bamboo thanked all their “friends, fans, supporters and Believers,” as well as to their “few brave producers out there” and their “business partners throughout the years,” which includes music distributors EMI and PolyEast Records.

This online voting process will make up 30% of the overall scores to determine a winner. The other 70% will be determined by global music judges.

Voting is simple

a) Open voting page and you will see two sections – on the left side will be the various categories. On the right side will be the popfolio player.It will be empty in the beginning and will take 60 seconds to load all songs.
b) Choose a category/s you want to vote and automatically the page will expand at the bottom to reveal the nominees and the links to the artistes music profile (view)
c) Choose the nominee you want to vote for. Or if you need more info or to listen to the songs of the indie act, then click view and you will get to access the artiste songs and info.
d) Do take note that sometimes the artistes profile page may be slow to open due to high traffic.We encourage fans and friends familiar with the act to visit the acts other sites such as myspace, reverbnation, facebook or even youtube to gain access to songs and info. This will act as a back up plan.
e) You may vote as many times as you want but do take note there will be a lapse of almost 10 seconds between each vote.
f) The popfolio player on the main page which is empty in the beginning will start revealing all the songs after 60 seconds. This acts as a further back up plan to allow music votes to access songs to the nominated acts.However, please ignore the categories on the side of the songs.

I know found out that “Parang si Ely Buendia” is a new song by Soapdish and they will be launching the music video of the song Friday, March 26 at Ten 02 Bar in Timog, Quezon City. (With performances by Above Zero, Cunejo, Silent Sanctuary, Rubberpool and Soapdish).

Ok, since that is out of the way… What’s up with the title.. or the song?! I don’t want to assume that I am right, but don’t you guys think that this band who made this “Parang si Ely Buendia” song is just riding Mr. Buendia’s popularity? Maybe hoping that they will get a few of the masses’ attention to them, you know a little spotlight?
